Suppose you are riding your bicycle down a busy road when suddenly you hear the scream of a frantic woman who has just witnessed her husband get hit by a car. The woman in the intersection throws her arms into the air pleading for help as her motionless partner lies bleeding on the ground.

As you scan the scene of the accident, the woman faces you for assistance, tears streaming down her face. How would you react in this case scenerio? If you don't know, let WHO be your guide.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) has been recommended by many international and national expert groups, including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) and the Sphere Project.

This guide's main objective is to help you know the most supportive things to say and do for people who are very distressed. It will also give you information on how to approach a new situation safely for yourself and others, and not to cause harm by your actions.
